Obverse

The obverse of 2022 Armenian Noahs Ark Gold Coins comes with an image of the Armenian coat of arms. This design comes with a quartered shield bearing eagles in two quadrants and lions in the other two quadrants. At the center, there is a smaller shield with the image of Noahs ark on the top of Mount Ararat. The shield is supported by a heraldic eagle and a heraldic lion. Inscriptions on this side of the coin read 25,000 DRAM, 1/2 OZ AU 999.9, 2022, and REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA.

Reverse

On the reverse side of 2022 Armenian Noahs Ark 1/2 oz Gold Coins is a depiction of Noahs ark. In this design, the ark glides along the floodwaters that have enveloped the Earth. As the water recedes, the sun rises over Mount Ararat in the distance. In the foreground, a dove flies into view holding an olive branch in its beak, a sign that dry land exists nearby. Inscriptions include NOAHS ARK in both English and Armenian.

History

All of the coins in the Armenian Noahs Ark Series come with the same design. Eduard Kurghinyan created the reverse design of Noahs Ark in 2011 for the release of the three original weights in the silver series. The design is now used on all seven weights in the silver series and the four weights of the gold series.
