The design features a quartered shield with heraldic lions in the first and fourth quadrants, as well as the heraldic eagle in the second and third quadrants. The shield is supported by a heraldic eagle and heraldic lion, with a smaller shield at the center showcasing Noahs ark on Mount Ararat. Inscriptions read 1/4 OZ AG 999, 100 DRAM, and REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA, the latter of which is in English and Armenian.

Reverse

The reverse side of the 2022 Armenian Noahs Ark Silver Coin comes with an image of Noahs ark. The biblical ship that helped Noah save his family and two of every animal in the world is shown here as the sun rises over Mount Ararat in the distant background. In the foreground, a dove brings back an olive branch. The inscriptions on this side include NOAHS ARK in both English and Armenian.

History

The Noahs Ark Series featured 1 oz, 1/2 oz, and 1/4 oz silver coins in 2011 when it debuted. Geiger Edelmetalle later introduced 5 oz, 10 oz, 1 Kilo, and 5 Kilo silver coins into the series. In 2017, the first-ever gold coins were released in the form of proof gold coins. In 2020, the gold BU coins were introduced.
