When you order 2022 Ascension Island Modern Masters St. George & the Dragon Silver Coins, they will arrive to you housed in protective plastic capsules. Each of these coins was struck in .999 pure silver and will arrive in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. As such, few, if any flaws will be visible on these coins. Each specimen in this listing was produced by The Commonwealth Mint and holds legal tender status on Ascension Island.
Obverse
On the obverse face of 2022 Modern Masters St. George & the Dragon 1 oz Silver Coins there is an effigy of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This Fifth-Generation portrait from Jody Clark features the Queen with her coronation crown, the George IV State Diadem. Along the rim youll see inscriptions reading ELIZABETH II, ASCENSION ISLAND, TWO POUNDS.
Reverse
The reverse side of 2022 Ascension Island Modern Masters St. George & the Dragon 1 oz Silver Coins features St. George facing the dragon. The two are in the throes of battle, with the dragon appearing on the right side and St. George on the left. St. George is on horseback with a spear while the dragon prepares to attack with its mighty claws. The year of release 2022 appears across the border along with a handsome edge design.
History
In 1817, Britain released a new gold Sovereign following the conclusion of the Napoleonic Wars. The coin is considered a numismatic masterpiece today, in part because of the St. George and the Dragon reverse design by legendary engraver Benedetto Pistrucci. The Modern Masters series pays tribute to this beloved design with three new interpretations from todays leading coin designers. The first design is by Jody Clark and will be followed by renditions by Natanya Van Niekerk of South Africa and John Mercanti of America.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
