Created in 2015 by Jody Clark, this design is the sixth-generation effigy of the Queen to feature on Australian coins. Reverse
On the reverse face of the 2022 Australian Emu 1 oz Gold Coin is a depiction of two emus. In the foreground, youll see the head and elongated neck of the emu in right-profile relief. History
Emus are the second-largest living birds behind the ostrich. Endemic to the Australian continent, emus stand around 6 feet tall on average and, like the ostrich, are flightless. However, the powerful legs of the emu allow it to run at speeds of up to 30 MPH.
