Like many other gold bullion collections available around the world, the Australian Kangaroo comes with a 1 oz gold coin and several fractional-ounce weights. The most common fractional-ounce weights within any gold bullion series are 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz. These are all available in the Australian Kangaroo Series and have been since its debut in late 1986. Provident Metals now offers 2022 Australian Kangaroo 1/2 oz Gold Coins to you for purchase online.
When you purchase one of these 2022 Australian Kangaroo 1/2 oz Gold Coins online at Provident Metals, you will receive a coin that is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The 1/2 oz gold coins come individually housed in protective acrylic capsules and have a maximum mintage of 100,000 for the year.
The obverse of the 2022 Australian Kangaroo Gold Coin features a right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. This effigy of the Queen was designed for the Royal Mint in 2015 by Jody Clark and came to Australian coins starting in 2018. It depicts the Queen at the age of 89 with the George IV State Diadem Crown on her head. The inscriptions on this side include ELIZABETH II, AUSTRALIA, and 50 DOLLARS.
On the reverse side of 2022 Australian Kangaroo 1/2 oz Gold Coins is the new design for 2022. This image features on four of the five coins in the series and shows an adult kangaroo leaping along a grassy plain with its young joey nearby. Hillocks are depicted in the background field on the horizon. Inscriptions include 1/2 OZ 9999 GOLD, KANGAROO, and the P mint mark of Perth Mint.
Australian Kangaroo bullion coins were originally known as the Australian Nugget Series. The 1/2 oz weight in that series featured the Hand of Faith gold nugget design and used that same image from 1987 to 1989. In 1990, the series began using new depictions of the kangaroo on the reverse of each coin. The 2022 release includes 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz coins with a shared kangaroo design that is new for 2022, as well as a 1 Kilo gold coin with Stuart Devlins historic kangaroo image from the Copper Penny.
