Obverse
The obverse of 2022 Australian Kookaburra Gold Coins features a right-profile effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is featured in right-profile relief in this 2015 portrait from Jody Clark. The design is the sixth to feature on Australian coins during the Queens reign and is the first since 1966 to include her shoulders in the portrait. The Queen is aged 89 in this effigy and wears the George IV State Diadem. Inscriptions include ELIZABETH II, AUSTRALIA, and 15 DOLLARS.
Reverse
On the reverse side of the 2022 Australian Kookaburra 1/10 oz Gold Coin is an image of a kookaburra. This design shows a kookaburra in left-profile relief as it sits on the edge of a decorative birdbath. Australian Kookaburra coins have been available in a silver bullion series since 1990. Together with the Australian Kangaroo gold series, these two coins form the backbone of Perth Mint annual releases. The addition of this 1/10 oz gold coin in the series adds another popular option for investors.
