Obverse
The obverse side of 2022 Australian Lunar Tiger Gold Coins features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is shown here in right-profile relief in a design from Jody Clark. Created in 2015 for the Royal Mint, this is the sixth-generation effigy of Her Majesty to grace Australian coins and is the first portrait on Australian coins since 1966 to include the Queens shoulders in the effigy. The design field includes inscriptions of ELIZABETH II, AUSTRALIA, 10 OZ, 9999, AU, and 1000 DOLLARS.
Reverse
On the reverse field of 2022 Australian Lunar Tiger 1 oz Gold Coins, you will find the new Year of the Tiger design. Created by Monique Reeves, this image shows a tiger in left-profile relief as it stands along a rock ledge. The tiger is featured with a muscular frame and a mouth full of razor-sharp teeth as it unleashes a loud roar. The inscriptions on this side are limited to the Chinese symbol for the tiger, TIGER 2022, and the P mint mark of Perth Mint.
History
The 2022 Year of the Tiger is the third release in the Lunar Series III collection. Available in gold, silver, and platinum, the coins in the Year of the Tiger release include a distinct silver design with an adult tiger and young cub, as well as the shared design of an adult tiger that features on the gold and platinum coins. The 1 oz, 2 oz, and 10 oz gold coins have a micro-engraved security feature on the reverse side.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies.
