Introduced in 1989, the Austrian Philharmonic Gold Coins were initially available only in 1 oz gold and 1/4 oz gold. The 1991 addition to the series brought with it a 1/10 oz gold coin. The 1994 addition to the series brought the 1/2 oz gold coin. In 2014, the gold coins were rounded out by the release of these 1/25 oz gold coins.
On the obverse of 2022 Austrian Philharmonic Gold Coins is a depiction of the pipe organ in the Musikverein. The second pipe organ to feature in the build, this pipe organ was installed in 1907 and refurbished in 2011. The pipe organ is found the Golden Concert Hall, the main concert hall in the Musikverein. Inscriptions include REPUBLIK OSTERREICH, 1/25 UNZE GOLD 999.9, 4 EURO, and 2022.
The reverse side of 2022 Philharmonic 1/25 oz Gold Coins features an image of musical instruments. This design focuses on a large cello in the center that is flanked on either side by two violins. The background includes a French horn, a bassoon, and a harp. The inscription on this side includes WEINER PHILHARMONIKER.
