History

The White Greyhound of Richmond came to the Royal Arms through King Henry VII, the first monarch from the House of Tudor. He carried the White Greyhound in its personal badges and symbolism through his father, Edmund Tudor, Earl of Richmond. The White Greyhound came to the Earl of Richmond through John of Gaunt, steward of the Honours of Richmond and third son of King Edward III.
