The Queens Beast Series launched in 2016 with the release of 2 oz silver coins, 1 oz gold coins, and 1/4 oz gold coins in the BU series. The program expanded in 2017 to offer 10 oz silver coins and 1 oz platinum coins in the BU series as well for each of the designs to be offered. The collection includes the 10 designs in total, with a tone copy of each heraldic beast still held in the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew.

The favored dog breed of Northern England, the White Greyhound has featured on badges of royalty and members of the Royal Family since John of Gaunt adopted it a badge he held during the 14th century as the steward of the Honour of Richmond. History
The White Greyhound of Richmond supports the House of Tudor shield through its association with Edmund Tudor. Edmund Tudor was made Earl of Richmond and the White Greyhound passed on to the Royal Arms of England through his son, the victor in the Wars of the Roses and the man who merged the House of Lancaster and House of York as the first monarch of the House of Tudor.
