History
Like the Cottonmouth, the Black Mamba will open its jaws in menacing fashion when it feels threatened. If you encounter this terrifying sight, you will notice the interior of Mambas mouth is pitch blackhence its name. Black Mambas are mainly found in South and East Africa in the savannas and woodlands. They move at startlingly quick speeds, which helps contribute to the fear they induce among humans. Their venom is also deadly, with few surviving unless treated within a few hours of attack.
