History

The Kennedy Half Dollar was first struck on February 11^th, 1964, in a synchronous first strike ceremony at the Philadelphia and Denver mints. With many still mourning the fallen president, these Half Dollars sold out at the mint on their first day of release. As production continued, fans hoarded these coins in their desire for a memento to remember Kennedy. To this date, it is the longest-running half dollar in US history.
