Obverse
On the obverse side of 2022 Niue Czech Lion Silver Coins is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. This design is frequently used by Commonwealth nations and was created in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley. History
The Czech Lion series has been produced annually since 2017 by the Czech Mint in collaboration with Niue Island. The first four designs in the series offered variations on a theme in which a lion guarded the Crown of Saint Wenceslas. Since 2021, a new theme has emerged which depicts a close-up of the lion wearing the crown instead of guarding it. This kind of diversity in the design, along with very low mintages, makes the Czech Lion series a fan favorite year after year.
