This design comes from Neil Hollis and is exclusive to the 2022 release of Australian Kangaroo Gold Coins. It depicts a large kangaroo bounding into the foreground, with a smaller kangaroo flashing across the plains in the background. The inscriptions on this side include 2022 2 OZ 9999 GOLD, KANGAROO, the P mint mark of Perth Mint, and the NH initials of Mr. Hollis.
History
Australian Kangaroo Gold Coins have been available since 1990. Prior to this date, the series was known as the Australian Nugget Gold Coins from 1986 to 1989.
