The RMS Titanic has quite literally gone down in history as an infamous ship. Upon its completion in early 1912, the ships builders and operators boasted of the ship being unsinkable. Tragically, its maiden voyage proved otherwise as it struck an iceberg in the North Atlantic and sank within 160 minutes. Right now, you can buy 2022 Proof Colorized Cook Islands Titanic 1912 1 oz Silver Coins online at Provident Metals.

  • Arrives with an acrylic capsule, window box display, and a Certificate of Authenticity!
  • Available on the 110th anniversary of the Titanics sinking!

  • Ultra-high-relief visuals!
  • Limited mintage of just 1,912 silver coins!
  • Contains 1 Troy oz of .999 pure silver.
  • Bears a face value of 5 Dollars (CID) fully backed by the Cook Islands government.
  • Queen Elizabeth II is on the obverse with an image of the ships route and its schematics.
  • The RMS Titanic sails by icebergs in the Atlantic on the reverse side.

With your purchase of the 2022 Proof Colorized Cook Islands Titanic 1912 1 oz Silver Coins online in this Provident Metals listing, you will receive a coin that has an ultra-high-relief strike and colorized, proof visuals. The ultra-high-relief strike delivers background depth and 3D relief on the designs. Proof coins have frosted designs and mirrored fields. The colorization on these coins is limited to the reverse. Each coin comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and arrives in an acrylic capsule with a window box display.

Obverse

Queen Elizabeth II is on the obverse of 2022 Proof Titanic 1912 Silver Coins. This 1998 portrait of Her Majesty was designed by Ian Rank-Broadley and shows the Queen wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. The design element includes the maps of Southampton, UK, and New York City, USA, with a route between the two showing the Titanics progress, as well as the spot it sank. Schematics of the Titanic, shown from overhead and the side, are also found on this side. Inscriptions include ELIZABETH II, 5 DOLLARS, COOK ISLANDS, and 2022.

Reverse

In the reverse design of 2022 Proof Colorized Cook Islands Titanic 1912 1 oz Coin, you will find the colorized image of the RMS Titanic sailing the North Atlantic. Here, the Titanic navigates some icebergs as it steams along toward New York City. Inscriptions on this side of the coin include TITANIC.

History

The Titanic departed on April 10, 1912. Four days into the journey, as most of its passengers slept, the Titanic struck an iceberg in the North Atlantic. The iceberg cut into five of the 16 watertight compartments open, allowing thousands of gallons of seawater to pour in. Less than three hours later, the Titanics hull snapped and the ship floundered, taking more than 1,500 souls to an icy, watery grave.
