Obverse

Reverse

History
The Isle of Man is situated in the Irish Sea between the island of Ireland and the island of Great Britain. When the Vikings arrived in the British Isles, raiding and conquering portions of Britain, the Isle of Man eventually came under the control of the Vikings. The King of Norway directly controlled the Isle of Man from 1093 to 1103, with King Magnus VI of Norway eventually selling the island to King Alexander II of Scotland in 1266. Today, Queen Elizabeth II is head of state as the Lord of Mann.
