History

Though they no longer exist, the Yazoo tribe once had an active presence in Mississippi along the Yazoo River. However, the Yazoo struggled to survive following the arrival of the French in the mid-18thcentury. Once relatives of the Tunica and Koroa, any descendants of the Yazoo today will likely be found among the Choctaw and Chickasaw tribes.
