History

The Chickasaw were once considered one of the Five Civilized Tribes, along with the Cherokee, Choctaw, Creek, and Seminole. These tribes were ultimately forced to leave their homeland by the US government between 1830 and 1850 in what is known as the Trail of Tears. The Chickasaw would wind up in Oklahoma, where they are considered the 13^th largest federally recognized tribe in the country.
