Reverse
The Gollum of the big screen had two personalities. one cowardly and one ruthless and fierce, and the coin’s obverse side features the second of those personalities, snarling and crouching with the gates of Mordor in the background. The image is fully colorized, frosted and raised to enhance its contrast with the mirrored backdrop. Small inscriptions show the copyright and trademark of New Line Productions and verify the coin’s silver contents.
Obverse
On the obverse is Ian Rank-Broadley’s classic effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, specifying the coin as legal tender. It’s joined by the inscriptions “Elizabeth II,” “Niue,” “Two Dollars” and “2022.”
