The seal comes with a traditional basket at the center with a sorghum stem and a coffee branch on either side. The seal includes a sun above the basket with a cog wheel beneath the basket. The rest of the design element includes a traditional warriors shield on either side. Inscriptions on this side of the coin read BANKI NKURU YU RWANDA, AMAFARANGA, 50, MIRONGO ITANU.
History
The Rwandan Lunar Ounce Series debuted in 2017. The series offers 1 oz BU and 1 oz Proof silver coins each year. The designs are the same on both coins, with all options featuring the shattered-glass effect on the obverse background field.
