After 35 years of featuring John Mercantis heraldic eagle, 2022 marks the first full year of a new design on the reverse. After being depicted on 2021 Type 2 Coins, this new Emily Damstra design will be featured on all 2022 coins. This new image takes the iconic flying eagle and puts it in flight. 2022-S Proof American 1 oz Eagle Silver Coins are available for purchase at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
2022-S Proof American 1 oz Eagle Silver Coins are designated DCAM. These are proofs with deep-cameo visual keys, which indicate that the coins have strong, frosted matte design elements. Theyre also graded PR69 by the PCGS. This indicated near-perfect condition with no more than two minor detractions and the coins original, full mint luster. All coins will be shipped in PCGS protective plastic slabs.
Obverse
The obverse of all 2022-S Proof American Eagle Silver Coins showcases the Walking Liberty design. This iconic design was created by Adolph A. Weinman. Many believe he drew inspiration from La Semeuse. Liberty is seen striding into the sun on the left of the coin while holding oaken branches with an American flag over her shoulder. Inscriptions read LIBERTY, 2022, AW, and IN GOD WE TRUST.
Reverse
All 2022-S Proof 1 oz Eagle Silver Coins depict the brand-new flying eagle design. This new design becomes just the second image to be featured on Proof American Eagle Silver Coins in the program’s 35-year history. This design shows the bald eagle in mid-flight with an oak branch in its talons. Inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ONE DOLLAR, 1 OZ, FINE SILVER, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and S.
