Released in 1967, the series started with gold coins that promoted South African gold around the world. In 2017, the Krugerrand program grew to include silver coins. Obverse
The obverse of the 2022 South African Krugerrand Silver Coin features Paul Krugers detailed portrait. This artwork has been part of the Krugerrand series since 1967 and was originally designed in the 1890s for South African Pound coins. The inscriptions here include SUID-AFRIKA and SOUTH AFRICA.
Reverse
The reverse side of 2022 Krugerrand 1 oz Silver Coins carries the image of the Springbok antelope. A long-standing national symbol, the Springbok has appeared on South African coins since the 1930s and is shown here moving across the open plains. Inscriptions here include KRUGERRAND, 2022, FYNSILWER, 1 OZ FINE SILVER, and R1.
History
The Krugerrand design prominently shows Paul Kruger. Kruger served as the President of the South African Republic (Transvaal) from 1883 to 1900 and became a leading figure of Afrikaner identity and resistance to British expansion. His influence during the lead-up to the Second Boer War (1899-1902) established him as a lasting symbol of independence.

All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
