Obverse
The obverse of this gorgeous coin includes a map of the western Pacific region, including Oceania, Australia and part of Asia. The landmasses are depicted with a paisley pattern that lends an artistic and vintage feel to the image. The sea and oceans are shown with a grid-like pattern. An inset on the right of the coin includes the required portrait of Elizabeth II. This effigy was created by Ian Rank-Broadley in 1998 and has been used since then in many coin designs across the globe. Around the image of the map, a clever border designed to look like a compass provides room for inscriptions that read 5 DOLLARS, TERRA 2022, ELIZABETH II, and TOKELAU.

Reverse
On the reverse, you’ll find the other side of the globe. It depicts the Atlantic ocean and continents of North and South America, Africa, and Europe with the same paisley and grid-like patterns as the reverse. A lovely stylized compass rose is included and sits in the middle of the ocean. The inscriptions on this side are also housed on a compass-style border and read 1 OZ FINE SILVER 9999, TERRA 2022, and SERVA ME, SERVABO TE. The Latin phrase means SAVE ME AND I WILL SAVE YOU. It’s a reminder that every person is responsible for working to protect the Earth that provides them a home and resources.

History
