History

2022 marks the second year of release for the Armed Forces Collection from the United States Mint, with the series first being introduced in 2021. Obverse

The national security cutter, a well-known Coast Guard ship, is seen on the obverse of the 2022 U.S. Coast Guard 1 oz Silver Medal. This ship is shown pushing through ocean waters as it moves forward toward the viewer. The hull number 753 featured on the ship identifies it as the famous security cutter labeled the Hamilton. There are also two visible inscriptions shown above the ship, which read: U.S. COAST GUARD and SEMPER PARATUS, which means Always Ready.

Reverse

Multiple iconic Coast Guard symbols are shown on the reverse of the 2022 U.S. Coast Guard 1 oz Silver Medal, including a life preserver ring and a racing stripe. Near the reverses center, the emblem of the United States Coast Guard is included. Values of this military branchhonor, respect, and devotion to dutyare also seen around the edges of the reverse.
