History

This 2022-release is the fourth release in the U.S. Armed Forces Silver Medals Program. All medals featured in this series have been made to honor the United States Armed Forces, including its history and mission, through incredibly detailed imagery. Every year, new silver products are released in this series from the United States Mint to honor the Armed Forces, with the U.S. Marine Corps represented in 2022.

Obverse

Three Marine Corps soldiers are shown on the obverse of the 2022 U.S. Mint Marine Corps 2.5 oz Silver Medal Box COA. Each solder holds an M4 rifle, and they raise them up as if prepared to shoot. These soldiers have just landed after being on the U.S. warship the viewer can see in the background of the medal. While two of the soldiers move to crest the hill, the third remains hidden to cover for them.

Reverse

A combination of Marine Corps symbols are featured on the reverse of the 2022 U.S. Mint Marine Corps 2.5 oz Silver Medal Box COA, including an eagle, globe, and anchor. A rope border is shown around the image, along with the core values of the Marine Corps: courage, honor, and commitment. The words SEMPER FIDELIS appear at the top of the reverse, which is the Marine Corps motto that translates to Always Faithful.
