Obverse
The obverse side of 2023 American Eagle Gold Coins comes with a portrait of Lady Liberty. This front-facing relief shows her full-length figure with a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. Inscriptions read LIBERTY and 2023.

On the reverse field of the 2023 Eagle 1/2 oz Gold Coin, the US Mint offers a new depiction of the American bald eagle. Released in mid-2021, this design shows the head of the eagle in left-profile relief. Inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and 25 DOLLARS 1/2 OZ. The new reverse design was issued in mid-2021 during the 35th-anniversary celebration of the series. The design element was created by Jennie Norris.
