Obverse
For the obverse design of the 2023 American Eagle Gold Coin, the mint features Augustus Saint-Gaudens vision of Lady Liberty. This design was created in 1907 and used on the Double Eagle Gold Coin until 1933. Inscriptions on this coin read LIBERTY and 2023.
Reverse
In the reverse design of the 2023 Eagle 1/4 oz Gold Coin, the mint offers Jennie Norris new design of the American bald eagle. Created in 2020, it debuted in mid-2021 and makes its third appearance in the series in 2023. The inscriptions here include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and 10 DOLLARS 1/4 OZ. FINE GOLD.

Jennie Norris new design on the reverse of American Eagle Gold Coins debuted in mid-2021. It replaces the original design from Miley Busiek that was created in 1986 for the debut of the series.
