American Eagle Gold Coins debuted in 1986. The series initially offered four weights in the BU series and one in the Proof series. The gold collection matched other options of the day with 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz coins, with these options offered immediately in 1986 in the BU range and only a 1 oz gold coin in the Proof range.

Obverse

On the obverse of 2023 Eagle 1 oz Gold Coins, you will find the historic image of Liberty. This 1907 design from Augustus Saint-Gauden was created for the $20 Double Eagle Gold Coin and featured in that series until 1933. The field includes inscriptions of LIBERTY and 2023.

Reverse

The reverse side of the 2023 American Eagle Gold Coin comes with a depiction of the American bald eagle. This design was created in 2020 by Jennie Norris as a replacement for the original reverse design in this series. History

American Eagle Gold Coins received a first-ever redesign in 2021. Miley Busieks original bald eagle design for the reverse was replaced in 2021 on the occasion of the 35^th anniversary of the vaunted gold series.

Ordering

These 2023 American Eagle 1 oz Gold Coins are near-perfect specimens. Each coin has full, original mint luster and no more than two detractions. Acceptable flaws include only minuscule contact marks or hairlines outside the primary fields. These First Strike coins were received for certification within 30 days of release from the mint.
