As of 2017, American Eagle bullion coins from the United States Mint come in four different metallic versions: gold, silver, platinum, and palladium. The first two coins debuted in 1986 with the launch of the series, while the platinum coin debuted a decade later as the third option. When the American Eagle Platinum Coin debuted in 1997, the US Mint offered the coins as investment-grade BU specimens and collectible Proof specimens. Both versions had 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz weights. As of 2008, only 1 oz platinum coins are available in the series.
Obverse
On the obverse of 2023 Eagle 1 oz Platinum Coins, you will find the stoic gaze of the Statue of Liberty. The head of the Statue of Liberty is featured in this design along with inscriptions of LIBERTY, 2023, IN GOD WE TRUST, and E PLURIBUS UNUM.
Reverse
The reverse sides of the 2023 American Eagle Platinum Coins feature a unique depiction of the American bald eagle. This design from Thomas D. Rogers shows the eagle soaring over the rising sun. Inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, .9995 PLATINUM 1 OZ, and $100.
History
BU American Eagle Platinum Coins were suspended in 2009 and not issued again until 2014. The coins were again halted in 2015 before returning in 2016. The coins are now available annually again, but only in 1 oz platinum.
Ordering
2023 American Eagle 1 oz Platinum Coins come in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins are packaged in individual flips, protective tubes of 20 coins, or Monster Boxes of 100 coins. The boxes hold five separate tubes and all coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.

For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
