When you purchase one of these 2023 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins online from Provident Metals, you will receive a coin that is housed in a plastic slab. These coins have been certified as near-perfect specimens with full, original mint luster and no more than two flaws. These minor detractions are limited to minuscule contact marks or hairlines.
Flaws on these coins must be located outside the primary focal points of the coin to qualify for this grade level. Additionally, these coins are Early Release items that were received for grading within 30 days of issue by the mint.
Obverse
The obverse side of the 2023 American Eagle Silver Coin features a depiction of Liberty. This design is known as Walking Liberty and was created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman for use on the US Half Dollar coin. Inscriptions read LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and 2023.
Reverse
On the reverse field of 2023 Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins, the mint offers a depiction of the American bald eagle. This design was created in 2020 by Emily Damstra and shows the eagle in flight with its wings raised behind its frame as its talons clutch an oak branch. Inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and ONE DOLLAR 1 OZ. FINE SILVER.
History
Emily Damstras new reverse depiction of the American bald eagle marks the first-ever design change for this series. It was released in mid-2021 during the 35th anniversary of the American Eagle Series.
