The coins are offered in multiples with acrylic tubes of 25 coins or Monster Boxes of 250 silver coins. The Monster Box holds 10 individual 25-coin tubes. All coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
Obverse
In the obverse design of 2023 Australian Kangaroo Silver Coins, the mint features Jody Clarks effigy of Queen Elizabeth II for the final time. With the Queens recent passing in September 2022, these early 2023 coins will be the last with Her Majestys right-profile effigy as designed in 2015. Inscriptions include ELIZABETH II, AUSTRALIA, and 1 DOLLAR.
Reverse
For the reverse design element of the 2023 Kangaroo 1 oz Silver Coin, Perth Mint offers a modern interpretation of Stuart Devlins classic leaping kangaroo design. This design is based on what was originally featured on coins of the Australian copper penny series. The inscriptions on this side read AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO, 2022, 1 OZ, 9999, and SILVER.
History
In 2016, the introduction of the Australian Kangaroo Silver BU Coin expanded the existing Australian Kangaroo Gold Series that had debuted in 1990 in its current format. In 2018, the series again expanded to include an Australian Kangaroo Platinum Coin.
