Obverse
On the obverse side of 2023 Philharmonic 1/10 oz Gold Coins, you will find the image of a pipe organ. This is known as the Great Pipe Organ and was installed in the Musikverein in the first decade of the 20th century. Inscriptions include REPUBLIK OSTERREICH, 1/10 UNZE GOLD, 999.9, 2023, and 10 EURO.
Reverse
The reverse face of the 2023 Austrian Philharmonic Gold Coin features a collection of instruments. In this design element, there is a cello at the center with two violins on either side. The background field features a harp, a bassoon, and a horn. The inscriptions on this field read WIENER PHILHARMONIKER.
History
The first issue of the Austrian Philharmonic 1/10 oz Gold Coin in 1991 finished with a mintage of 82,500 gold coins. Like any gold bullion coin, the Philharmonic 1/10 oz Gold Coin ebbed and flowed with time, hitting a near-record high recently in 2020 with a mintage of 329,377 coins. Only the 2009 date mark hit a higher mintage.
