Reverse
On the reverse, the 2023 British Britannia Gold Coin displays Philip Nathans iconic Britannia design. Britannia is depicted looking to the left, holding a trident and a Union Jack shield, and wearing a Corinthian helmet. Inscriptions include BRITANNIA, 999.9 FINE GOLD, 1/10 OZ, and 2023.
History
British Britannia Gold Coins were first issued in 1987, with silver coins following in 1997. The Royal Mint increased the purity to .9999 gold and .999 silver in 2013. Over the years, four unique obverse designs have been featured, including three of Queen Elizabeth II and now one of King Charles III.
