Obverse
Giant Pandas are featured in the obverse design element of 2023 Chinese Panda Silver Coins. This design element shows the two pandas in and around a tree. While one panda stands on the ground leaning on the trunk as it extends a paw upward, the other panda has already ascended into the tree and is reaching back down to its companion. Inscriptions on this side include 30 G, AG, .999, and the 10 Yuan face value.
Reverse
For the reverse field, the 2023 Panda 30 Gram Silver Coin features the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests. This design has been on gold and silver coins since the debut of the series. It is the largest building in the Temple of Heaven Complex. The inscriptions on this side include the nation of issue and the date mark of 2023.
History
Chinese Panda Silver Coins were initially offered between 1983 and 1988 only as proof specimens, with weights often falling below 1 Troy oz and the purity bouncing between 90% and 92.5% silver.
