The primary inscription on this side is 2023.
History
Since 1817, the Royal Mint has been minting British Gold Sovereigns, with the reigning monarch gracing the obverse and the iconic image of St. George and the dragon by Benedetto Pistrucci adorning the reverse. In honor of King Charles III’s coronation, the Royal Mint has released this special series of proof coins, featuring a crowned portrait of the new King of England.
