History

Pressburg Mint has revived a minting tradition in the Slovakian region dating back over two millennia. Around 50 BC, Celtic tribes in the area today we call Bratislava began minting the legendary Biatec coins. Then during the Austro-Hungarian Empire, mints in Pressburg helped turn the area into a center of finance. When the mints shut in the 18^th century, the tradition lay dormant until it was resurrected in 2015 with the establishment of the privately-owned Pressburg Mint.
