History
African bush elephants are highly social animals and live in herds consisting of females and their young. These herds can number up to 100 individuals, and they are led by a matriarch, typically the oldest and most experienced female in the group. The males, or bulls, live solitary lives or in bachelor groups until they reach breeding age.
