History
The Faerie Queene is considered one of the most influential poems in all of English literature. This epic work introduces both Una and the iconic Redcrosse Knight in Book I. During the adventure, the pair becomes separated, leaving Una alone in the wilderness. There she meets a lion, who is initially rather hostile. However, Unas beauty and virtue tame him, at which point he becomes her protector and companion on the journey.
