Since the introduction of the Rwandan Wildlife Series, the obverse design element has remained the same on the coins. The obverse visual of the national seal has not changed to date, neither has the appearance of the African continent in the center of the reverse design. The native species featured in the lower left does change with each release, however.

History
The Nile Crocodile is one of Africas deadliest predators. Though it is named for the Nile River Delta it inhabits, the crocodiles can be found throughout freshwater lakes, estuaries, and rivers from the east to the west coasts of Sub-Saharan Africa.
