Reverse

History

Somalia began issuing the Silver Elephant coin in 2004, replacing Zambia, which had backed the coins since 1999. As the series grew in popularity, a gold version was added to the collection in 2010. And in 2016, the silver purity was increased to four nines, giving the coins additional appeal for investors.
