On the occasion of the series 50th anniversary in 2017, the Rand Refinery and South African Mint answered the long-awaited wishes of fans of the series with the release of a first-ever silver bullion coin in the collection. When you purchase a 2023 South African Krugerrand 1 oz Silver Coin online from Provident Metals, you will receive a coin that is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins available in this series come in individual flips, plastic tubes of 25 coins, or boxes of 500 silver coins. Each box holds 20 separate tubes of 25 coins each.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2023 South African Krugerrand Silver Coin comes with a vision of Paul Kruger. This left-profile portrait of Kruger has been featured on all coins in this series since 1967. It depicts Kruger as an aged statesman with his trademark long beard. The inscriptions on this side include SUID-AFRIKA and SOUTH AFRICA.
Reverse
On the reverse side of 2023 Krugerrand 1 oz Silver Coins, you will find the classic image of the Springbok antelope. In this design, the antelope is shown in right-profile relief on the savannas of South Africa. The inscriptions on this side read KRUGERRAND, 2023, FYNSILWER, 1 OZ FINE SILVER, and R1.
History
The South African Krugerrand Silver Coin is, notably, the first coin in the Krugerrand bullion series to feature a face value. All of the coins, gold and silver, are legal tender in South Africa. However, the gold coins do not have an assigned face value.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. All products are discreetly packaged and shipped with full insurance included.
Most Provident orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
