Obverse

Reverse

The detailed artwork presents a more natural view of the national bird while maintaining its traditional symbolism. Inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, ONE DOLLAR, and 1 OZ. History

The Burnished Silver Eagle was first introduced by the United States Mint in 2006 during the 20th anniversary celebration of the American Silver Eagle program. Production continued through 2008 before pausing in 2009 and 2010. Since 2011, the Mint has issued Burnished Eagles each year. The highest mintage came in 2007 with 621,333 coins struck, while the 2023 mintage totaled 160,865 coins.
