History

The American Eagle Silver is exclusively struck in a 1 oz weight, unlike its gold counterpart. Each coin is minted with .999 fine silver. While the San Francisco Mint, Philadelphia Mint, and West Point Mint all contribute to the overall production of these coins, it is the West Point Mint that exclusively handles the production of Burnished American Silver Eagles. The combined mintage in the overarching series has eclipsed 500 million.
