Obverse
On the obverse of the 2024 Ascension Island Helmeted Liberty Silver Coin, youll find a portrait of King Charles III. This left-profile image, designed by Jody Clark, shows the King without a crown. Ascension Island, a British Overseas Territory, has historical ties to both Britain and the United States, serving as a joint military base during World War II. The inscriptions read CHARLES III, ASCENSION ISLAND, 1 OZ 999 AG, and ONE POUND.
Reverse
The reverse of 2024 Helmeted Liberty 1 oz Silver Coins features the Helmeted Liberty design. Lady Liberty is shown with a helmet to symbolize protection, and the wings on her helmet are linked to the Roman god Mercury, a symbol of prosperity. The design also includes 13 stars, a nod to the original American Colonies. Inscriptions here include 2024, LIBERTY, and E PLURIBUS UNUM.
