Among the most popular and well-known of the Perth Mint’s annual coin programs is the Australian Kangaroo Series. This series dates back to 1986 when it was known as the Australian Gold Nugget Series. In 1990, it was rebranded to show a kangaroo. Silver coins were first issued in 2015 and were notable as they were the first silver coin program from the Perth Mint to be issued with a purity of .9999 pure silver. Australian Kangaroo Gold Coins

Australian Kangaroo Gold Coins are available in several unique sizes, such as the following.

• 2 oz (proof)
• 1 oz (BU)
• 1/2 oz (BU)
• 1/4 oz (BU, proof)
• 1/10 oz (BU)
• 1/2 gram (proof)

These coins show the image of a kangaroo bounding past a creed bed. These coins are made with .9999 pure gold and include the P125 mint mark signifying the 125th anniversary of the Perth Mint. BU coins arrive in capsules, with larger orders arriving in sealed boxes.

Proof coins arrive in a presentation box with a Certificate of Authenticity. The 1/2 gram option, also known as the mini roo, arrives in a presentation card.

Also available is a 1 oz gold coin in MintID packaging. These presentation cards are AES-128-bit encrypted.

Australian Kangaroo Silver Coins

These coins are just struck in a 1 oz size, made from .9999 pure silver. BU coins arrive individually in flips but are also available in tubes of 25, or boxes of 250. You can also find a 1 oz proof strike available as well. These coins arrive housed in a box with a Certificate of Authenticity. These coins have a mintage of just 7,500.

Australian Kangaroo Platinum Coins

Also available is a 1 oz platinum coin made from .9995 pure platinum. Platinum coins debuted in 2018 and have been issued annually ever since. Each coin is a BU strike.
