Obverse
The obverse of the 2024 Quokka 1 oz Silver Coin shows King Charles III. This is the first release in this series to feature a new portrait by Dan Thorne. King Charles III is depicted in left-profile relief without a crown. The inscriptions include CHARLES III, AUSTRALIA, 1 OZ 9999 AG, and 1 DOLLAR.
Reverse
The reverse side of the 2024 Australian Quokka Silver Coins features a quokka family. The family is gathered near some brush, with a beach stretching into the background. A lighthouse is visible at the end of the beach in the distance. Inscriptions on this side include QUOKKA, 2024, and the P125 mint mark of Perth Mint.
History
Quokkas are able to survive in very dry conditions due to their low metabolic rate and ability to obtain almost all of their water requirements from their vegetarian diet. They are known for their friendly and inquisitive nature, often appearing to smile and happily approaching humans. This has earned them the nickname “the world’s happiest animal.

These 2024 Australian Quokka 1 oz Silver Coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Each coin is individually housed in a capsule. Sets of 20 are individually encapsulated and sealed in plastic rolls. Sets of 100 come in boxes containing five rolls.
