Obverse
The obverse of the 2024 Black Proof Snow Leopard 2 oz Silver Coin features the seal of the Central Bank of Mongolia. The design includes the large paws and claws of the leopard gripping wood, with the bank’s seal to the right.
Reverse
On the reverse, the 2024 Black Proof Mongolia Snow Leopard 2 oz Silver Coin depicts two snow leopards. The left side features a stoic leopard gazing into the distance, dominating the field. The right side showcases a stylized leopard with rosettes forming its figure.
History
Snow leopards inhabit the mountainous regions of 12 countries in Central and South Asia, including the Himalayas, the mountains of the Tibetan Plateau, and the Altai, Tian Shan, and Pamir mountain ranges. Their range covers approximately 1.8 million square kilometers, spanning elevations from around 3,000 to 5,500 meters above sea level.
