The Tudor dynasty, ruling from 1485 to 1603, consisted of five monarchs. Henry Tudor established the dynasty after the Wars of the Roses, becoming King Henry VII. His son, King Henry VIII, was one of the dynasty’s most significant figures. Henry VIII was succeeded by his three children: King Edward VI, Queen Mary, and Queen Elizabeth I.

History
Henry VII, the first Tudor monarch, used the red dragon as a supporter in his royal arms. Henry VIII continued this practice, pairing the dragon with a greyhound. Later Tudor monarchs sometimes replaced the dragon with a lion, but the dragon remained an important Tudor symbol.
