The Australian Brumby is a wild horse that has roamed freely in Australia for centuries. These horses are descendants of those brought by European settlers in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Since 2020, the Perth Mint has celebrated this resilient animal with its Australian Brumby coin series. Provident Metals now offers the 2024 Colorized Australian Brumby 1 oz Silver Coin.
Highlights:
Each 2024 Colorized Australian Brumby 1 oz Silver Coin is presented in a Perth Mint display case, which includes a clear acrylic lid for easy viewing of the coin. The coin is also housed in a special Brumby-themed shipper with bold, colorful artwork to match the coins vibrant design.
Obverse
On the obverse of the 2024 Colorized Australian Brumby Silver Coin, you will find the first-ever portrait of King Charles III on the Brumby Series. Designed by Dan Thorne, this left-profile portrait presents the King without a crown, marking the beginning of a new era for Australian coins. Inscriptions on this side include CHARLES III, AUSTRALIA, and 1 DOLLAR.
Reverse
The reverse side of 2024 Colorized Brumby 1 oz Silver Coins showcases the Australian brumby galloping across a barren desert landscape. The coin is enhanced with colorization, featuring a vivid purple sky and a flash of lightning, making the scene come alive with energy and detail. The inscriptions here include AUSTRALIAN BRUMBY, 2024 1 OZ 9999 SILVER, and the P125 mint mark.
History
The presence of brumbies in Australia’s ecosystems has become a contentious issue, with debates ongoing about their impact on native flora and fauna and how to manage their populations ethically and effectively.
