Each 2024 Colorized Native America the Beautiful Delaware 1 oz Silver Coin you purchase here comes individually packaged. Obverse
The obverse of the 2024 Colorized NATB Delaware Silver Coin showcases Canadian geese in Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge. The Lenape people referred to this area as Canaresse, which means at the thickets. The English name comes from the Dutch Boombjes Hoeck, translating to little-tree point. Inscriptions on this side include CANARESSE, DELAWARE, 2024, and LENNI LENAPE.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2024 Colorized Delaware 1 oz Silver Coin features the common design of the series. This includes an American bald eagles head at the center of an eight-pointed star, with eight arrowheads between each point of the star. Inscriptions on this side read NATIVE AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL, 1 OUNCE, ONE DOLLAR, and 999 AG.
History
The Lenape were skilled farmers who practiced sustainable agriculture. They cultivated the “Three Sisters” – corn, beans, and squash – which were planted together in a symbiotic relationship. This agricultural technique helped maintain soil fertility and provided a balanced diet.
